Raleigh -After surveying every state’s correction web page, the N.C. Dept. of Correction web page was judged one of the best if not the best in the country, according to Management Information Services and Integrated Network Services.

Gatesville - Gates Correctional Center received a certificate of appreciation from the Hertford County Commissioners in June. The certificate was for "outstanding service in yard maintenance and painting of county buildings." The services were part of the prison’s community work program.
