NCFlex Annual Enrollment

DOC employees have until Nov. 13, 1998, to lower their taxable income by participating in NC Flexible Spending Accounts.

NCFlex is about saving money. All work locations have received their shipments of 1999 booklets and enrollment forms. Read your booklet because this year, there is a new vision care plan.

Now is the time for all of us to make changes in our selections or to join. If you are already participating in a dental program or in the accident, death and dismemberment insurance, your accounts will automatically continue. However, if you want to make adjustments in these accounts, do it doing open enrollment.

The two opportunities to tax defer the most money are under the Health Care Spending Account and Dependent Day Care Account. Each year employees participating in the Health Care and Dependent Day Care accounts have to reenroll to participate in these two opportunities.

DOC Benefits Representative must send all enrollment forms to Cathrine Garner by end of business day Nov. 13, 1998. Enrollment deductions for 1999 are effective in the January paycheck. However, coverage on all programs begins Jan. 1.

New hires have thirty days from their date of hire to join.
