Stewart Retires from Neuse
Staff at Neuse Correctional Center celebrated the retirement of Stanley Stewart Oct. 1

Stewart began a 30-year career with
the department in August 1968 as a correctional officer
at Central Prison. By 1970, he was promoted to sergeant,
lieutenant in 1972 and captain in 1975. He moved to
Triangle Correctional Center in 1979 as assistant
superintendent for custody, and by 1993, he had been
promoted to assistant superintendent for custody and
operations at Neuse. Stanley was involved in the North Central Area P.E.R.T. team from 1979 to 1993, holding the positions of team commander to assistant commander during this time. |
Stanley and his wife, Anita, have two daughters, Stacy and Amy, and one grandson, Caleb.
Stanley and his family appreciate the prayers and outpouring of support which he received over the past year after being severely injured in an accident.
