Health Insurance Alert
Three HMOs no longer offered
Many counties in the western part of the state will no longer have an HMO option.
Three current HMOs, CIGNA, Healthsource and Partners, will no longer be offered. If your HMO has dropped its coverage in your area, you will not be automatically reassigned to the State Health Plan or another HMO.
To have health insurance coverage, you must complete a new application and designate your new choice.
Please refer to your It’s Your Choice booklet or contact your benefit representative at your work location if you need assistance with your designation.
The 1998 Annual Enrollment period for N.C. Teachers’ and State Employees’ Comprehensive Major Medical Plan is Aug. 3 through Sept. 4.
All applications must be sent to DOC payroll by Sept. 4. u
