Buddy Way, former JDM of District 20A dies
ROCKINGHAM — Buddy Lee Way, former judicial district manager for District 20A, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at his home. He was 61 years old.
Way attended Elon College then played professional baseball and graduated from Pfeiffer College with honors. He taught at Rohanen High School for two years where he was the head baseball coach. As a coach, he won the state championship in baseball and received coach of the year honors in the Central Tarheel Conference. He also coached Little League Baseball for a number of years.
Way recently retired from DOC in December 1998 after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, and their three children. u
