Kim Barnes, a PPO I, spends a lot of tiem in the court room. She said working court takes up a lot of time because you do a lot of sitting around and waiting for your cases to come up. | Andy Conner is an intensive officer. He said intensive probation is a last ditch effort to help people in the community rather than sending them to prison. | Dawn Baughman (L) and Barry Alston (R) are both PPO IIs and Steve Ginter is an intensive case officer for Judicial District 15. | Mark Atklins is a PPO II. He has been with district 15 A for five years. he said he likes field work, but he dislikes dogs. "They can sense when people are nervous," he saiud. atkins was a criminal justice major at UNC-Wilmington. He completed an internship with probation while in school and decided that's what he wanted to do for a living. |
