Ratliff Named JDM In District 20A

ROCKINGHAM - Craig W. Ratliff has been named Judicial District Manager in district 20A, which covers Anson and Richmond counties, effective July1. He replaces Kathy Bond who transferred to Buncombe County.

"Craig Ratliff has been a dedicated and valuable employee who knows the area he’ll be managing inside and out," said Secretary Theodis Beck. "He is very involved in the community and will be invaluable to the citizens’ safety."

As Judicial District Manager, Ratliff will supervise 31 employees and approximately 1,000 offenders. "The Division has some good things going and I want to help carry out the goals they have for the future," said Ratliff.

Nearly 29 years ago Ratliff started working in community corrections as a probation officer in Richmond County. In December 1985 he was promoted to chief probation/parole officer over Richmond and Montgomery counties. Ratliff graduated from Winston Salem State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in English and sociology.

Ratliff lives in Rockingham with his wife. They have two daughters who followed in Ratliff’s footsteps, attending Winston Salem State University. He serves on several boards in his community, likes to read and is an avid sports fan.
