Inmates Help With Storm Clean-up
On Tuesday, June 6, six inmate community work crews will start cleaning up downed trees and other debris left by recent storms. The crews from Dan River Prison Work Farm in Caswell County will be primarily working in parks in Guilford County and along roads in Alamance County.
Local county officials requested help through the State Emergency Response Team, which coordinates disaster response and clean-up following natural disasters.
Inmates assigned to Community Work crews are in minimum custody and are screened prior to being placed on jobs outside the prison facility.
