BOYETTE NAMED SUPERINTENDENT AT NASH CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION

Supt. Bonnie Boyette - Nash Correctional InstitutionNASHVILLE- Secretary Theodis Beck has named Bonnie Boyette superintendent of Nash Correctional Institution, effective Feb. 1.

"Bonnie Boyette has wide-ranging experience in corrections," said Secretary Beck. "I am confident that with her knowledge and professional attitude she will be a fine administrator at Nash."

Boyette started her career in corrections as a food service supervisor at what was Wake Advancement Center in 1981. She was promoted to program director in 1988 when the facility expanded and became Wake Correctional Center. Two years later, Boyette was promoted to program director for the Division of Prisons. She was named superintendent of Fountain Correctional Center for Women in 1991. In 1995, she became a personnel officer for the Division of Prisons. She has been superintendent of Wake Correctional Center since 1998.

"Nash Correctional Institution is a fine facility with a professional staff," said Boyette. "I am looking forward to building on the successes the facility has and helping staff grow to their greatest potential."

Boyette grew up in Charlotte and Greensboro. She is a graduate of Western Carolina University where she received a bachelor of science degree in home economics and education in 1974. Boyette and her husband Glenn have two teenage daughters. When she has time, Boyette enjoys reading, cooking and the outdoors.

Boyette replaces Michael Bumgarner who retired Jan. 1.
