Inmate found dead at Hoke Correctional Institution
RAEFORD – Inmate Michael Eugene Bowen (#0678537) was found dead Thursday night at 9:15 p.m. by officers at Hoke Correctional Institution. He was hanging in his cell, the victim of an apparent suicide.Bowen, 22, was convicted of multiple counts of breaking and entering and larceny in Catawba County in Feb. 2000. He was transferred to Hoke Correctional Institution on Sept. 11.
