Execution Date Set For Guy Tobias LeGrande

RALEIGH - Correction Secretary Theodis Beck has set Dec. 1, 2006, as the execution date for inmate Guy Tobias LeGrande.  The execution is scheduled for 2 a.m. at Central Prison in Raleigh.

 LeGrande, 47, was sentenced to death April 26, 1996, in Stanly County Superior Court for the first degree murder of Ellen Munford.  He also received a consecutive sentence of nine years for conspiracy to commit first degree murder.

 On Oct. 2, 2006, the U. S. Supreme Court dismissed LeGrande’s petition to review the decision of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in the setting of the execution date.
