Probation & parole executives to meet in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE – Probation and parole executives from across America will gather in Charlotte next week for the National Institute of Corrections - Executives of Probation & Parole conference.  Community corrections directors from approximately 30 states are expected to attend. 

The conference is scheduled May 2-5 at the Holiday Inn Charlotte-Center City at 230 North College St.

Topics of discussion will include supervision of low risk offenders, fugitive apprehension units, methamphetamine issues, supervision fees, sex offender supervision and electronic supervision using GPS and other new technologies.  There will also be discussion of the Prison Rape Elimination Act and its ramifications for community corrections agencies.
