Escaped inmate apprehended in Surf City

SURF CITY - Inmate Chad Cordon, who walked away from a prison work crew Tuesday, was apprehended at about 11 a.m. Wednesday in Surf City.

Local police received a tip that Cordon was in the area of the Food Lion store on Highway 50 in Surf City and responded to that location. Cordon was arrested without incident. At this time, Cordon is not known to have committed any additional crimes while on the loose.
