Search under way for escaped inmate MARION - Corrections and law enforcement officers are searching for an inmate who escaped Friday morning from the minimum-security unit at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion. The inmate was reported missing shortly after being accounted for at the 6 a.m. head count. He escaped the facility by scaling a razor wire fence. The inmate is Floyd A. Ramsey, 42, (#0335288) who is serving an 18-month sentence for possession of a firearm by a felon. Anyone who has seen the inmate or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call Marion Correctional Institution at (828) 659-7810 or by contacting law enforcement officers in Marion, McDowell, Mitchell or Avery Counties.
