Search underway for inmate escaped from Rutherford CC

 SPINDALE - Corrections and law enforcement officers are searching for inmate James Burns #0815421 who escaped early this morning from Rutherford Correctional Center, a minimum-security men’s prison.

 Burns, 43, was serving a 4-month sentence for misdemeanor assault on a female and was due for release at the end of June.

 Anyone with information on Burns’ whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement or Rutherford Correctional Center at 828-286-4121.
