Ricky Anderson
Named Deputy Director of Prisons
RALEIGH
– North Carolina Division of Prisons Director Bob Lewis today named
Ricky Anderson as Deputy Director of Prisons.
Anderson
has served as superintendent at Pasquotank Correctional
Institution in Elizabeth City
since August 2007. He
previously was superintendent at Foothills Correctional Institution
in Morganton. He began
his career as a correctional officer at
Wayne Correctional
Center in 1979, becoming a program
assistant and program supervisor in
Greene
County in 1982 and 1983.
In 1990 he was promoted to program supervisor at Caledonia
Correctional Institution and in 1992 he was promoted to assistant
superintendent for custody and operations.
He became assistant superintendent for custody and operations
at Marion Correctional Institution in 1994 before being named
administrator at Foothills.
Anderson
attended East
Carolina
University
and enjoys hunting, fishing and sports.
He is married and has two daughters and two grandchildren.
He is a graduate of the Department of Correction Leadership
Development Program and was named Warden of the Year in 2008.

career,” Anderson said. “I think what we do makes a
difference to the citizens of North Carolina
and I look forward to my new role in continuing to help make North Carolina a safer place to
live.”
