Escapee from Carteret prison captured in Ohio

 RALEIGH – Carteret Correctional Center inmate Dale Beatty, who walked away from a work assignment on Monday, was captured about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday by members of a local fugitive task force in Springfield, Ohio.

The Ohio town is where inmate Beatty’s wife lives. 

 Beatty, 46, (#0737945) is serving a 4-year 8-month sentence for larceny.  His extradition could take several weeks.  He likely will be charged with felony escape upon his return to North Carolina.
