Search underway for escapee from Goldsboro prison

 GOLDSBORO - Department of Correction officers and local law enforcement agencies are searching for inmate Johnny Dickerson, who escaped from Neuse Correctional Institution Saturday night.

 Dickerson, 29, was serving a six-month sentence for misdemeanor larceny, communicating threats and simple assault.  He lives in New Bern and he may be in that area this morning.

 Anyone who has seen Dickerson or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call Neuse Correctional Institution at 919-731-2023 or call your local law enforcement agency.
