Tim Moose named Community Corrections director

RALEIGH – Correction Secretary Alvin Keller today named Tim Moose as director of the Division of Community Corrections.  Moose has been overseeing the operations of the state’s probation and parole system since mid-January as acting director.

Moose is a 25-year probation veteran who began his career in 1984 as a probation officer in Wake County.  During his tenure, he has managed the division’s electronic house arrest program, intensive supervision programs and special operations.  Before being named acting director, he served as a special assistant handling the division’s legislative and policy issues.  

 “Tim has done an outstanding job in the past four months in his role as acting director and helped refocus our probation and parole system on the basics of good community supervision,” said Secretary Keller. 

 Moose is a native of Salisbury.  He earned his political science degree at N.C. State University, with a concentration in criminal justice.  Tim and his wife Diane are the proud parents of three daughters, and Tim is longtime coach for girls’ fast pitch softball.
