|
The Basic Intermediate Training Program is a
comprehensive two (2) week eighty-two (82) hours of intense training
specifically designed for advanced level supervision by the officer.
Offender supervision is high risk and requires closer interaction between
the officer and offender. The Intermediate Officer works in conjunction
with a Surveillance Officer, and together they supervise assigned offenders.
Both the Surveillance Officer and the Intermediate Officer are required to
complete the Basic Intermediate Officer Training. This course provides instruction in firearms, defensive techniques, advanced defensive techniques, weapons retention, tactical approaches to drug searches, and other special considerations for the Intermediate, Surveillance, and High Risk Officer. Trainees must fire qualification scores with the revolver and pass a written examination. The Intermediate Officer must complete this training within 12 months of promotion. The Surveillance Officer/High Risk Officer must complete this training as well as the Basic Probation Officer Training within 12 months of employment. |
