Background

Overview

The Curriculum Section of Office of Staff Development and Training serves as the agency’s clearing house for all proposed training and accompanying lesson plans. As such, this section provides guidance and direction for development of validated Criminal Justice Standards Division certified training programs and non-certified training courses. By establishing requirements and responsibilities for training and development it provides the management plan for training and development processes and integrates all process tasks and activities. The training and development process includes the systematic analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training.

OSDT is working to develop a system of training that encompasses progressive training throughout one’s career. The Curriculum section has implemented actions to ensure that training and development is provided at all stages of one’s career: Entry, Probationary, Staff, Supervisory, and Managerial.
