This course of instruction provides staff with an overview of cultural issues and seeks to facilitate improved communication in the supervision of inmates, offenders and the interaction between other staff members from different cultural backgrounds. It advocates the tenets of awareness, sensitivity and tolerance.

Also it sends a clear message of the Department’s sentiments and commitment to a nondiscriminatory and non-hostile working environment. This training is tailored to the particular audience for direct delivery to trainees or on the Train the Trainer level upon request.
