One-day employee training designed to motivate, promote
team work and challenge employees. This training is beneficial to
all employees and will encourage them to participate beyond their
comfort zone and think outside the box.† An adventure that isnít soon forgotten!
Participants receive training credit and a certificate of completion.
Ideal group size is 10-16.
The policy for use of Department of Correction owned
challenge courses shall be as follows:
All Department of Correction employee Challenge
Course Training must be approved and scheduled through the Office
of Staff Development and Training. No training will be conducted
without OSDT approved and certified staff in attendance.
Only DOC staff is permitted to attend Challenge
Course Training unless approved through the Secretary's Office.
The Office of Staff
Development and Training will be responsible for maintaining challenge
course employee training records and instructor certifications.
This will include providing employee instructor training schools
as needed. OSDT will be charged with mandating training criteria,
keeping instructors updated on changes, and scheduling instructors
to conduct employee challenge course training.
This instructor training teaches the process of facilitating,
leading, and safety issues of the Ropes Challenge Course. Instructors
will be training on safety, setting up and taking down the course
as well as how to successfully process following a group event. This
is a four-day training. Instructor training is held as needed.
