	*How to Find a Job with NC DOC*

1. Find a Job to Apply For -

DOC vacancies are posted on our web site on Tuesdays. The vacancy postings includes requirements/qualifications, a description of the job and work location, and the closing date for that position. Applications will be considered only if they are received at the address listed on the job posting before the closing date. For DOC vacancies, click here and select "Dept of Correction."

2. How to Apply (Preparing Your Application) -

The N.C. Department of Correction uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Personnel Act with the most qualified individuals. The N.C. Department of Correction is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants must complete and submit a PD-107 State Application. Be sure to indicate the position number and job title for which you are applying in the section "Jobs Applied For." Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a State Application (PD-107). All information must be accurate. To receive credit for your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the State Application.

3. Submit Your Application -

Sign and date your application. Make sure your application indicates which job you are applying for by position number. Mail or deliver the application to the address listed in the job posting. Job applications must be received on or before the closing date. To be post marked on the closing date is not sufficient for an application to be considered timely.
