 Prison Program Description: Religious Programs

PurposeReligious Programs assist inmates in spiritual growth and development and provide an opportunity for inmates to demonstrate their faith through practice and participation. Religious programs provide for the spiritual welfare of inmates and provide inmates with:
  1. pastoral care and counseling;
  2. religious education and instruction; and
  3. interfaith worship and practice.
Criteria for ParticipationAll inmates have access to religious resources, services, instruction or counseling on a voluntary basis.
Program OperationReligious programs, services and pastoral care are offered at all prisons. A chaplain is available at each prison to coordinate programs and services and to provide pastoral care.
