Program Supervisor Is Featured On Torch Run Poster
By Pamela Walker

If you’ve seen the North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run 2001 posters, you may recognize the man holding the torch. He’s Enoch Hasberry, program supervisor at Carteret Correctional Center.

"I’ve had my picture taken a bunch of times, but I never saw it published and I didn’t know it was going to be on the poster," said Hasberry. "I was excited when I found out. It is really motivating."

Hasberry says he has been running in the Torch Run for many years, first as a Marine and then representing the Department of Correction. He’s no doubt ready for the annual event because he typically runs up to 10 miles a day.

It has been nearly five years since Hasberry started his career in corrections as a correctional officer at Neuse Correctional Institution. He transferred to Carteret as a program assistant and was eventually promoted to program supervisor. Before joining the Department, Hasberry served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years. He is married and has two adult children and one in college.

You can also help the athletes by purchasing a 2001 Law Enforcement Torch Run T-shirt or a Torch Run cap. They are on display at the Enterprise reception desk. T-shirts and caps are $13 each. If you purchase a shirt and a cap, you will receive a $1 discount and get both for $25.
