Forsyth work crew cleans up after tornado in Clemmons
![]() |
Tornadoes
cut a path through northwest North Carolina May 7, 1998,
as heavy rains and winds of 100 to 200 mph buffeted
Forsyth County and parts of Guilford, Davidson and Surry
counties. The storm caused about $50 million in property
damage. Forsyth Correctional Center work crews were sent to the Forsyth County community of Clemmons to help clean up after the storm. Correctional officers J.W. Johnson, Jamie Lewis and Randy Shelton supervised the prisoner work crews. |
