Research Bulletin:
 
The Research Bulletin is a handy "pocket reference" sheet published by the Office of Research and Planning. It serves as a snapshot of corrections in North Carolina, and it is produced in a form that makes it usable and convenient. The Research Bulletin contains information about prisoners, probationers, and parolees, as well as data about correctional costs and upcoming construction projects.

Abstract:
 
TheAnnual Statistical Report of the Department of Correction is the most extensive source of information about corrections in North Carolina. This report, familiarly known as the Abstract, provides a valuable reference on correctional statistics. The Abstract includes trends, population counts, and general demographic data about prison, probation, and parole. It also has correctional information by county and institution. These reports are published for calendar year and fiscal year.

The Daily and Average Inmate Population Summary Sheets
 
These spreadsheets contain a summary of prison unit population totals for state and contract facilities. Daily totals, monthly averages and period end information are listed for both the calendar and fiscal year. Research and Planning will update these spreadsheets on a monthly basis.
