Inmate Phone Program 

The North Carolina Division of Adult Correction (DAC) has extended its contract with Global Tel*Link (GTL) to provide phone service to allow inmates to call their families and friends.  Some changes have been made to promote communication between inmates and their family and friends and lower overall costs to inmates.


Information/Updates:

Call Timing Increased Beginning July 1, 2011, all inmate calls will be increased to 15 minutes instead of the current 10 minutes. The system will be programmed to begin cutting off a call at 15 minutes.
 
Collect Call Rates Adjusted Effective July 1, 2011, call rates have been restructured to a flat rate to lower overall long distance rates and simplify the current rate structure.
Local calls will be $1.25 for up to 15 minutes
All long distance calls will be a flat $3.40 for up to 15 minutes
 
International Calls Added DOC will be offering international prepaid calling to most countries and information was distributed to inmates in July concerning this new feature. Anyone wanting to receive an international collect call from an inmate will be required to set up an Advance Pay International account through GTL. Informational and rate flyers have been made available to inmates to send to family and friends concerning account set up. GTL has several options that customers (the person the inmate is calling/trying to call) can contact them should they need assistance with accounts. For International Advance Pay Accounts issues customers should contact GTL at AdvancePayInternational@gtl.net or 1-888-216-7423

Check Payment: No charge and no limit on deposit amount
Money Order Payment: No charge and no limit on deposit amount
Credit Card Payment: $4.75 processing fee
IVR (Interactive Voice Response) Payment: $4.75 processing fee
Internet Web Payment $9.50 processing fee (Pass-on fee from TouchPay)
Western Union $9.95 (Western Union fees determined by Western Union)
Close Account $5.00 Administrative fee


Payment Options:

You can set up or add funds to your GTL AdvancePay account in the following ways:
Deposits of:  $25 - $50
GTL accepts:  (Visa, MasterCard) to include:  Debit and Check Cards with Visa or MasterCard emblem, Discover Card accepted via use of GTL Website, or use of Customer Service Center

Payments can also be made online at www.GTL.net  (Note: there is a $9.50 processing fee passed on from TouchPay for this option.)

Monthly statements are not mailed by GTL, but can be requested by contacting the Customer Service Department
