Sherri Cook honored as probation/parole officer of the year
APEX
– Probation/Parole Officer Sherri Cook was recognized today by Correction
Secretary Theodis Beck and the North Carolina Department of Correction as one of
four Probation/Parole and Community Supervision Officers of the Year.
Cook supervises a caseload of 30 sex offenders on probation and parole in Davie County. She was recognized for her outstanding efforts as a probation/parole officer and for the work she has done as chairperson of the North Carolina Probation/Parole Association Division 3 Habitat for Humanity Committee.
Cook coordinated the efforts of more than 100 Community Corrections employees from 11 districts who worked to build a Habitat for Humanity home in Lexington. On June 24, the keys to the completed home were presented to a Lexington woman and her children.
Cook is a native of West Virginia and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. She lives in Mocksville.
