Operations Suspended at IMPACT Camps RALEIGH - Correction Secretary Theodis Beck is suspending operations at IMPACT camps in Morganton and Hoffman effective July 31. "The current budget crisis requires that steps be initiated to reduce expenditures," said Secretary Beck. IMPACT (Intensive Motivational Program for Alternative Correctional Treatment) is a 90-day boot-camp style residential program for probationers ages 16-30 who need a more structured environment than traditional probation supervision. IMPACT East, in Hoffman, opened as the state’s first boot camp in October 1989. IMPACT West opened in Morganton in 1994.
