Twelve arrested in effort to locate probation violators and wanted persons EDENTON - On April 1, the Edenton Police Department, Chowan County Sheriff’s Department and the North Carolina Division of Community Corrections cooperated with ten other local area agencies to locate and arrest local wanted persons and absconders from probation. This community policing operation resulted in twelve arrests, the capture of one probation absconder, three search warrants, multiple criminal summons and eight probation violations. Officers seized $4,800 in cash, along with significant amounts of liquor, beer and marijuana. “Our probation and parole officers appreciate the support they receive daily from local law agencies and they do all they can to assist in return,” said Roy Daniels, who manages probation and parole operations in North Carolina’s northeastern counties. “This operation is a great example of how law agencies can work together effectively to keep criminal offenders off our streets.” Other agencies involved in the operation were: Elizabeth City Police
