James Hardy named to lead Nash Correctional Institution
Hardy has served as the assistant superintendent for custody and operations at Nash CI for the past ten years. He began his corrections career in 1977 as an officer at Caledonia Prison Farm in Halifax County. He has also worked at Odom Correctional Institution. Hardy says he’ll continue working to maintain a safe community environment around the prison facility by ensuring that his staff is thoroughly and properly trained. He is a native of Roanoke Rapids and a graduate of Elizabeth City State University and Northwest High School in Littleton. He has also graduated from the Correctional Leadership Development Program offered by the Department of Correction. Hardy is an enthusiastic CIAA sports fan and enjoys grilling on his backyard barbecue. He lives in Pitt County. Nash Correctional Institution is a medium-security prison housing approximately 640 male inmates. Correction Enterprises operates two industries at the prison using inmate labor – a printing plant that prints many state government publications and an optical lab that produces eyeglasses for state inmates and Medicaid recipients. # # # |
