Execution date set for Marcus Reymond RobinsonRALEIGH - Correction Secretary Theodis Beck has set Jan. 26, 2007, as the execution date for inmate Marcus Reymond Robinson. The execution is scheduled for 2 a.m. at Central Prison in Raleigh. Robinson, 33, was sentenced to death Aug. 5, 1994, in Cumberland County Superior Court for the first degree murder of Erik Tornblom. He also received a concurrent sentence of 40 years for robbery with a dangerous weapon, 10 years for larceny and five years for possession of a weapon of mass destruction. On Oct. 30, 2006, the Supreme Court of the United States denied Robinson’s petition to review the decision of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, dismissing his appeal and causing this execution date to be set.
