Central Prison inmate found dead after apparent suicide

 RALEIGH – A correctional officer conducting an hourly count found Inmate Dion Villano #1185128 dead in his cell at Central Prison at 1:05 a.m. today.  Villano had hanged himself with a bedsheet.

 Medical staff attempted to resuscitate Villano.  He was pronounced dead by a doctor in Central Prison’s emergency room.

 Villano, 40, was being held on pending charges from Dare County.

The State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation.
