Inmate captured after overnight escape

MORGANTON - Corrections officers patrolling the roads surrounding Western Youth Institution captured inmate Alexander Flowers shortly after 8:30 this morning.

Flowers had escaped last night from the minimum-security portion of the prison sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. Monday.

Flowers was convicted in Stokes County and was serving an 8-10 month sentence for larceny of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny.
