Search underway for missing work release inmate

WALLACE - Correction and law enforcement officers are searching for minimum-custody inmate Alcola Wright (#0454024).

Wright, 42, is a work-release inmate who worked at the House of Raeford processing plant. He was last seen at the plant Monday between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.

Wright is serving a minimum sentence of 13 years and 25 days after being convicted as a habitual felon for breaking into vehicles, property cheating and larceny. He was due for release on Aug. 10.

He was assigned to New Hanover Correctional Center, a minimum security prison in Wilmington.

Anyone who has seen Wright or has information on his whereabouts should call local law enforcement or New Hanover Correctional Center at 910-251-2666.
