Department of Correction to honor Officers of the Year

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Correction on Monday will honor 10 officers who have demonstrated outstanding job performance, heroism or exceptional community service.

Department officials will formally congratulate the officers at a ceremony scheduled for 11:30 a.m. June 13, in the Gov. James G. Martin Building on the N.C. State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Among the 10 who will be honored are six correctional officers and four probation/parole officers.

Division of Prisons

Ronald Albertson, correctional officer, Eastern Correctional Institution, Maury.
Roger Moose, captain, Alexander Correctional Institution, Taylorsville.
Ishtroop Pannu, sergeant, N.C. Correctional Institution for Women, Raleigh.
Rosa Pope, correctional officer, Odom Correctional Institution, Jackson.
Edwin Simpson, correctional officer, Pender Correctional Institution, Burgaw.
Jonathan Steadman, correctional officer, Davidson Correctional Center, Lexington.

Division of Community Corrections

Jason Bensavage, probation/parole officer II, District 26, Charlotte.
Bobby Dickerson, probation/parole officer II, District 9, Franklin County.
Jennifer Glover, probation/parole officer II, District 5, Wilmington.
Robin Griffin, chief probation/parole officer, District 22, Statesville.
