Administrative Services

The Administrative Services Section of the Office of Staff Development and Training has fiscal responsibility for DOC Personnel, OSDT, Southern Coastal Plains Regional Office, Western Foothills Regional Office, Raleigh Regional Office, Eastern Regional Office, and Piedmont Triad Regional Office.

The fiscal responsibility falls into four major categories.  the four categories are:

Personnel: Posting, screening, selecting, hiring, benefits, time reports, appraisal process etc...

Purchasing: Equipment, supplies and services to include vehicles

Text Bullet

Budget: Coordinates and monitors the operating budget to include expense vouchers.

Text Bullet

Maintenance: Coordinates maintenance projects with maintenance staff.

All tasks conducted within these categories must be completed in compliance with the DOC Personnel Manual and the DOC Fiscal Policies and Procedures as well as standard accounting principles.  This requires administrative staff to not only know DOC policy and procedures but also to be knowledgeable in all areas of standard accounting principles and procedures as well as having a working knowledge of the North Carolina Accounting System computer program.
