In Snow Hill, another Greene Correctional
Center squad was at work. The recreation department asked that they clear
brush behind a ballpark's outfield fence.
Correctional officers work with community leaders to identify projects the inmates can tackle to benefit towns, cities and counties. More than 1,000 inmates work every Monday through Friday on the squads. It gives the inmates a chance to pay back the community and it gives local governments manpower to tackle clean up projects. |
