Division of Adult Probation and Parole had the responsibility for
supervising 117,100 offenders. These offenders consisted of
97,690 for probation
only, 16,719 for parole
only, and 2,691 for both probation and parole.
On December 31, 1995, 100,381 offenders had
an obligation for probation
supervision.
The total number of entries to probation
supervision in 1995 was 49,720.
During the calendar year 1995, there were
42,442 removals from probation
supervision.
The most common crime for entries onto probation
during the calendar year 1995 was Driving While Impaired with a
total of 9,747.
The overall revocation rate for offenders
on probation supervision, including those who elected to serve
their active sentences, was 30%.
On December 31, 1995, 19,410 offenders
had an obligation for parole
supervision.
The total number of entries to parole
was 11,515.
During the calendar year of 1995, there
were 13,264 removals from parole
supervision.
The overall revocation rate for parolees
was 31%.
