B. PROBATION SEPARATIONS

3. Separations by Crime Type

Probation Separations totaled 42,442 and consisted of the following Crime Types:

Violent crimes accounted for 4,948 (12%) of separations.

– the highest population in this crime type was Assault which totaled 3,770 and accounted for 76% in total violent crimes.

Property crimes accounted for 12,729 (30%) of separations.

– the highest population in this crime type was Larceny with a total of 5,278 and accounted for 41% in total property crimes.

Public Order crimes, including non-trafficking drug crimes and driving while impaired, accounted for a total of 20,153 (47%) of separations.

– the highest population in this crime type was Non Trafficking Drugs with a total of 6,418 and accounted for 32% in total public order crimes.
