2. Population by Crime Type

On December 31, 1995, parole population totaled 19,410 and consisted of the following Crime Types:

Violent crimes accounted for 2,977 (15%) of the population.

– the largest population in this crime type was Robbery which totaled 1,064 and accounted for 36% in total violent crimes.

Property crimes accounted 8,099 (42%) of the year-end population.

– the largest population in this crime type was Breaking/Entering with a total of 3,656 and accounted for 45% in total property crimes.

Public Order crimes, including non-trafficking drug crimes and driving while impaired, accounted for a total of 7,741 (40%) of the population.

– the largest population in this crime type was Non-Trafficking Drugs with a total of 5,229 and accounted for 68% in total public order crimes.
