Bennie Johnson was
trained under Bill Goodman at the Wayne County
Sheriffs office where he was a deputy. He still is
a part-time deputy on weekends and holidays, serving
commitment papers and riding with deputies for extra
help. He also teaches Basic Law Enforcement classes at
Wayne Community College several times a year. "I enjoy teaching," Johnson said. "It shows a sense of accomplishment to take someone who has never shot a gun and see them doing good. It is some way to measure what youve done." |

Johnson started as a correctional officer at Goldsboro Correctional Center, then spent more than five years as a sergeant at Neuse Correctional Center before joining OSDT two and a half years ago. |
