Charles Dozier is an intensive officer for Currituck County. A large percentage of his caseload works on the beach in construction or in restaurants. He said driving around the beach takes up a lot of his time since most of the roads are often filled with vacation traffic, people on bikes and rollerbladers. Doziers state vehicle is a four-wheel drive truck which is a necessity, not a luxury because the 11 miles north of Corolla on up to the Virginia line have no paved roads. The only way to get to the homes in that area is to drive on the beach. On weekends conditions are even worse when hundreds of vacationers invade the beach with their own trucks. Dozier puts 2,000 miles a month on his vehicle. | Lisa Seper is an office assistant III for Unit D in Currituck County. She said her job is interesting with something different happening everyday. "Sometimes you have people coming in for a regular office visit then, the next thing you know, they are being arrested." She is the first point of contact for the probationers coming in for office visits. Often they try to tell her their life stories while they are waiting to see the officers. "Ive heard every story in the book," she said. |
