4. Admissions by Age and Sex

Of the 24,625 admissions during the calendar year, females accounted for 2,586.

• Females accounted for 10% of admissions.

• The peak age range of female admissions was age 30 to 34 years (25.5%).

 

 

 

 

 

Male admissions during the calendar year accounted for 22,039.

• Males accounted for 90% of admissions.

• The peak age range of male admissions was age 20 to 24 (22.0%).

• A larger proportion of males than of females were in the youngest age groups.

• Nearly as many males under 20 years old were admitted as over age 39.
