	The probation officer's role in the traffic stop is to call the motorist's identification into the central probation office for a quick check of probation records. They can determine whether there are warrants out for the individual or whether the person may be a probationer who may be out past a court-ordered curfew, information police would not be able to access.
	The police and probation officers work in teams checking several cars at once.
	Teaming police and probation officers make both more effective and help each better understand the other's job.
