Probation officers and Raleigh police
join in community policing - Page 4

	Raleigh police officer Sam Quinn and Probation Judicial District Manager Doug Pardue at Halifax Court COMPASS. The police have equipped and staffed an office in four low income housing communities and operate a mobile COMPASS station that visits others. Probation officers will join the police in these offices where they can get to know the community and have a site where they can meet probationers who live there.
	Police say they have found bikes to be valuable tools in quickly reaching parts of the complex.
	At Halifax Court, police have also established a video monitoring system that allows the police to closely watch the neighborhood and record any illegal activitiy.
