| Gil Brown tries to encourage an inmate who scored high for chemical dependency on his diagnostic screening to try the counseling program. The inmate felt he could do it alone, but Brown said he is headed nowhere fast. "Pride and ego keep inmates like him from changing," Brown said. "They are trying to live up to the boys, not thinking of their families, who stick by them even in prison. My job is to plant that seed of recovery with them. It’s up to them to cultivate it." |
